Product Update: Configurable View Alerts (+ More)

Automatically notify the right people when contracts need attention.

Until now, Docsum’s alerting was simple: a weekly email every Monday showing contracts expiring in the next 60 days, sent to everyone on your team. Useful as a starting point, but not how contract teams actually work. Different teams care about different conditions. Legal needs to know about renewals. Finance tracks high-value agreements. Ops watches for missing fields.

This release transforms alerts from a rigid system behavior into a configurable workflow primitive—giving you control over who gets notified, what triggers the alert, and when it’s delivered.

📧 View Alerts: Contract Notifications, Your Way

Turn any View into an automated monitoring system.

Your saved Views already filter contracts the way you need them. Now you can attach alerts to any View and let Docsum notify the right people automatically.

• Alert on any saved View. Watching for contracts expiring in 30 days? Create a View, attach an alert. Tracking new vendor agreements? Same pattern. The View defines what matters; the alert ensures people know about it.

• Choose your recipients. Select specific team members who should receive notifications. Search by name or email to add the right people—whether that’s the legal team, a finance manager, or the person who owns the vendor relationship.

• Set your schedule. Configure alerts to run weekly or monthly. Get a summary every Monday morning, or a monthly report on the first of each month. You decide the cadence that fits your workflow.

• Preview before you commit. Test your alert configuration by previewing the email or triggering it manually. See exactly what recipients will receive before setting it live.

• Manage from one place. A dedicated Alerts page under Configure shows all your active alerts. See which Views they’re attached to, who receives them, and when they run. Edit, pause, or delete alerts without hunting through settings.

• Access from any View. Create and manage alerts directly from the View layout menu. No need to leave your workflow—configure notifications right where you’re already working.

📝 Word Add-in: Paragraph Citations

AI answers you can trace back to the source.

The Word Add-in AI assistant now cites specific paragraphs from your document when answering questions. Select text in Word to send it as context, then click on AI-generated citations to navigate directly to the source paragraph.

No more wondering where an answer came from. Click the citation, jump to the paragraph, and verify in seconds. In our next release, you'll be able to generate redlines and apply them directly to the document from chat.

🔐 Self-Service SSO Configuration

Set up SSO without filing a support ticket.

Account admins can now configure SSO directly from Account Settings. The new setup wizard walks through provider configuration, domain management, and auto-join settings—no engineering help required.

We've also streamlined the login experience: users with SSO-configured domains are automatically redirected to SSO login, and team invites now send SSO login links instead of password setup flows.

🔮 What's Next

This release is just the beginning of our alerts roadmap. Here's what's coming:

• Document-level alerts. Set reminders on individual contracts—like notifying you 45 days before a specific vendor agreement expires. We'll also add calendar invite delivery so critical dates appear right in your calendar.

• Value-based alerts. Trigger notifications based on contract metadata. Get alerted whenever a contract over $50k is added, or when agreements are missing required fields.

• More delivery channels. Slack notifications and webhook triggers for teams that want alerts where they already work.

Contracts require attention at the right time. An expiring agreement noticed too late becomes a missed opportunity or an unexpected liability. A renewal window that passes unnoticed locks you into unfavorable terms.

The old approach—one alert, one schedule, everyone notified—couldn't keep up with how teams actually manage contracts. Now you define exactly what matters, who needs to know, and when they should hear about it.
