📢 Your contracts are connected—now Docsum sees the connections too.
Contracts rarely stand alone. Master agreements spawn amendments, SOWs reference MSAs, and renewals extend original terms. This release introduces Document Relationships—a system that lets you map how your contracts connect, surface composite values across linked documents, and see the full picture of any deal at a glance. We’ve also brought AI-powered contract editing directly into the Word Add-in, so you can draft and revise without leaving your document.
🔗 Document Relationships: See How Your Contracts Connect
Know how your contracts relate—at a glance.
Contracts exist in webs of relationships: an MSA connects to its SOWs, amendments modify original terms, and renewals extend agreements. Until now, these connections lived in your team’s institutional knowledge. Docsum now lets you map them explicitly using a purpose-built graph database, giving you a structured, navigable view of how every document in your portfolio connects.
Create relationships between documents. Link contracts to their amendments, SOWs, renewals, and related agreements directly from the document sheet. Create connections one at a time or link one document to many related contracts in a single action.
Relationship type management. Classify relationships by type (e.g., “Amendment To,” “SOW Under,” “Renewal Of”) and update types as your understanding evolves.
Composite values. View rolled-up data across related documents directly on the document sheet. Toggle between a document’s own extracted values and the composite view that accounts for amendments and related agreements—giving you the true, current state of any deal.
Smart archival handling. When a document is archived, its relationships are automatically cleaned up so your relationship graph stays accurate.
Sorted by relevance. Related documents are sorted by Agreement Date, making it easy to trace the chronological history of any contract family.

This is just the beginning of Document Relationships. Coming soon: automated relationship detection that identifies connections across your portfolio based on shared entities and document characteristics.
📝 AI Contract Editing: Draft and Revise in Word
Let AI help you write—right where you work.
The Docsum Word Add-in now goes beyond review and chat. With the new AI Contract Editing tool, you can leverage AI assistance to draft, revise, and refine contract language directly within Microsoft Word. Combined with improved comment attribution via Office User Identity, your playbook-driven review workflows now properly track who suggested what—keeping your negotiation history clean and auditable.
AI-powered editing. Use AI to suggest alternative clause language, redraft sections, or refine contract terms without leaving your document.
Comment attribution. Playbook rule validations now correctly identify the Office user, ensuring comments and suggestions are attributed to the right person in your review workflow.

🚀 Why This Matters
Every contract tells part of a story. An MSA sets the terms, an SOW defines the work, and an amendment adjusts the deal. With Document Relationships, Docsum now understands these connections the way your team does—letting you see the full context behind any agreement and the true, composite state of any deal. Combined with AI-powered editing directly in Word, this release makes Docsum a smarter, more connected platform for managing your entire contract lifecycle.
Your contracts are assets. Docsum helps you treat them that way.
